Socially Significant IT-Project at IDCEE 2014 Will Get
UAH 100K Cash Prize from Boris Kaufman and FOCUS Magazine
28-hour Social Entrepreneurship Hackathon on the development of socially useful Internet applications and services will be held in the framework of IT-conference IDCEE. Internet technologies and innovations. The winner of the competition will be awarded cash prize in the amount of UAH 100K* from Boris Kaufman, the publisher of the magazine FOCUS. Social Entrepreneurship Hackathon is coorganized by IDCEE and SocialBoost with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
To participate in the Hackathon one should apply online at idcee.socialboost.com.ua till October 3. The idea for the project submitted should be a website, mobile application or any ICT product that is supposed to have particular social impact. Projects that use open data are very welcome.
10 projects will be selected to take part in the Hackathon on October 9-10. Seven ideas will be chosen by the professional jury, consisting of Eveline Buchatskiy (EastLabs), Denis Gursky (Social Boost), Victoriya Tigipko (TA Venture), Mikhail Shmelev (Microsoft Ukraine) and Marina Derepa (Focus Media). Three more projects will be selected based on online voting, which will last till October 7. The list of finalists will be announced on October 8. All Hackathon participants will get free tickets to the IDCEE, where on October 9-10 guided by experienced mentors they will present their ideas to the international audience. Nicolas Brousse (TubeMogul), Sergey Poplawski (Microsoft Ukraine), Indrek Rebane (Buildit.ee) and Alexander Gribenko (LIGA:LAW) have been already confirmed among the mentors.
The best project according to the jury will be awarded UAH 100K* for project development from the editor of the FOCUS magazine Boris Kaufman (Vertex United). In addition the winners of first, second and third places will receive access to the subscription Microsoft BizSpark. All teams participating in the Hackathon will be able to use the trial version of Microsoft Azure.
