The IDCEE 2015 Conference Postponed
For the 5 years of its existence, IDCEE has become one of the top-5 IT-events in Europe and one of the most important international tech conferences in the region. It has grown into an affective communication platform for investors from all over the globe and startups from Central and Eastern Europe, including Ukraine and Russia. IDCEE has been gathering over 2,500 visitors annually from 45 countries worldwide.
From the very beginning, our main goal was to ensure that IDCEE has the highest level possible in terms of content and organization, and from year to year the conference was growing and conquering the recognition and acknowledgement of the leading thought-leaders of the global Internet community. IDCEE was the place showcasing the biggest startup alley in Europe: 150 ventures annually from 20 countries. We were inviting more than 400 outstanding speakers, among who are trendsetters and legends of the web industry: Alan Patricof (Managing Director of Greycroft), Esther Dyson (Chairman of EDventure Holdings), Drew Guff (Managing Director and Founding Partner of Siguler Guff), Andreas Haug (General Partner of e.ventures), Joachim Schoss (Scout24, ResearchGate, askTheCircle), Glenn Fogel (Head of Worldwide Strategy and Planning of Priceline Group), Rasmus Lerdorf (PHP creator), Fabrice Grinda (super angel investor with 200+ companies in portfolio and Co-founder of OLX), Martin Weber (General Partner of Holtzbrinck Ventures), Philippe Botteri (Partner at Accel Partners), Mark Tluszcz (Co-founder and Managing Partner of Mangrove), Florian Heinemann (Co-founder of Project A Ventures), Florian Schweitzer (Partner of b-to-v), Keith Teare (Co-founder of TechCrunch, Founder of Archimedes Labs), Gareth Williams (Co-founder of Skyscanner), Brian Feinstein (Partner of Bessemer) and many-many others. Significant numbers of speakers, who have discovered Kiev by coming to IDCEE, have been coming back to Ukraine and IDCEE afterwards.
Yet this year, considering the current situation, we realized that it would be impossible to conduct IDCEE at the level that would correspond to our high internal quality standards. Following numerous discussions with our partners, co-investors and potential speakers, this week we have taken a difficult decision: not to hold IDCEE in autumn 2015. This is due not only to organizational risks, but mainly to unstable political and economic situation, and, as a result, unfavorable investment climate, which would decrease effectiveness and quality of such an international event as IDCEE.
Nevertheless, TA Ventures team won’t stop its activities aimed at developing Ukrainian IT ecosystem and supporting local tech startups, and will do this in a new format.
